Asked the dealer about it, and was told it should pass with them as they are.
But will give me a free retest after the parts are fitted if it does fail.

The dealer told me much the same but 225, who is an MOT tester said that it would be a fail.

Just shews that there is some lea way between testers. The bloke you mentioned who is a tester must be pretty hard.

The bloke I mentioned is my other half. He is not hard he just knows his job and does it correctly, his tester certification depends on it. He did my MOT and he services my car, I trust him completely. He has also done some work for another forum member who I think would highly recommend him.
Three strikes and you're out.

Well I went down on Monday for new pics. I was copied in on the email and the pics really dont do the corrosion any justice so I can just see the claim being rejected and me having to go back down for new, closer pics.

Did you find out where the water was coming in, on your rear light ?

I keep reading about these wheels on here.....my wheels are completely shot......do other manufactueres have the same problems with keeping a bit of varnish on a bit of ally???
Biking is me real passion. If it has to be a car it needs to stand out a bit.
I hope they don't stop making the Caliber like they say.

I am not to bothered now about the wheels as I will be getting another set of bigger and flasher wheels in the future.
Going to pop down to a wheel specialist down here and find out about having these wheels powder coated in black.
May not be worth the effort but I will see.

Gave my wheels a good clean yesterday and I must admit they look good. Yep there are a few tarnishes on the laguer but the wheels do look good.
Anyway I was around a friends house who has a Harley like mine but his front forks were looking a bit tarnished and oxidized but that was a few weeks ago.
Since then he wet and dried them with a very fine paper then set about them with solvo which he used cardboard to apply the solvo and then gave them their final polish with a rag.
The result is like something else.
They are almost mirror like now and do not have those horrible twirl marks you some times see on pollished metal.
Got me thinking I wonder what the result would be on my wheels.
If I can pick up one wheel of flea bay I might give it a go.
Not going to attempt it on my good wheels untill I see the results on a spare one.
There were some wheels on Flea bay for sale that whoever had pollished them did not know what they were doing and made a right mess of them. That will not happen to me.
I know that you can have your wheels re fubished at a wheel speacilist but honestly they would be no where near as good as what my friends forks look like. Just another project for later on. Will keep you posted.
