Yup, I've read info before on here re the hornet too.

Suppose a wee helping hand may ease the burden a bit though, so here's the latest update I've seen!

Smaller engined less powerful Hornet will probably start in USA at about $10.000 ( £ 5,000 ) Between 2009 -2011  . Be nice if it happens!!
Why worry about things you cant do anything about.?????

Chrysler pipeline has SEVEN new vehicles. One is the Jeep Cherokee and another is the Nissan JV. So five spaces left for the Hornet programme.
The 2010/11 Caliber would probably count as a facelift rather than one of these NEW vehicles surely?

The Hornet has arrived on the Dodge Europe site, BUT does not appear on the Dodge US equivalent page.

Bears some familial styling cues to the 4 door Kahuna and the M80 truck.

Nissan To Build Dodge Hornet in Japan and Mexico

TOKYO, Japan — Nissan will assemble an updated version of the Dodge Hornet initially at its Oppama plant in Japan, and eventually at its Aguascalientes plant in Mexico — for sale in North America and other markets.

The new Hornet, due in 2010 as a 2011 model, will look similar to the concept vehicle that was unveiled by Chrysler at the 2006 Geneva Auto Show, sources told Inside Line. The production model is expected to be built on the latest version of Renault-Nissan's global B-platform, which underpins such vehicles as the Nissan Cube and Renault Clio, they said.

Chrysler previously had discussed a possible assembly deal on the Hornet with Volkswagen and with Chery but failed to reach an agreement with either company. Chrysler is supplying minivans to VW, while Chery is supplying inexpensive subcompacts to Chrysler, primarily for the United States.

Earlier this year, Chrysler and Nissan announced a joint vehicle development deal under which Chrysler will provide Nissan with a version of the full-size Dodge Ram pickup to replace the Nissan Titan in 2011, while Nissan will supply Chrysler with a version of its Versa compact for sale in South America in 2009.

In April, Chrysler and Nissan released a statement saying, "Nissan will manufacture an all-new fuel-efficient small car based on a unique Chrysler concept and design. This new segment entry for Chrysler will be sold in North America, Europe and other global markets in 2010."

Hmmmm, 4 days to go from not decided to definately Nissan. Shame, I would have fancied one of these, but dont think I could bring myself to buy a Nissan - the people who inflict the micra on us!

Still, that was almost 6 months ago, so we'll see what happens.
