Thanks DH, I'll take another look tomorrow.
Any picture or info on where this 'star' shaped screw is?
A youtube vid is a definite, I've searched on the net loads for any info & can't find any! :bigcry:

Many thanks

Is there a secondary clip you need to slide before you can unclip the connector? Many car electrical connectors have a (usually) red tab to slide.

my bulbs have been in and out a few times over the last few weeks, 225 suggests a wiggle and pull action rather than trying to pull it straightt out.  do not undo the star shaped screw. wiggle and pull and the clip should come off. then remove the rubber cap this will give you access to the bulb.
Three strikes and you're out.

Thanks for the replies, I've got a few days off over easter so a wriggle & a pull it is
Does 225 do them from above?

Cheers

yeah he has changed them from above, moved the bottles out the way to give him a bit more wiggle room.
Three strikes and you're out.

Yes, it does just pull off. Firm grip, constant pressure and lots of wiggling, maybe a weetabix or two. It will come eventually, the bulb and plug tend to bind into each other due to the heat and time passed.

Yay finally changed my headlight bulbs  :-)  never felt so much sense of achievement. In the end I ended up prising the plug off with a screw driver!! No way was it coming of with all the wriggling & pulling!
Very happy now with my philips X-Treme bulbs in

Will - you are not alone!!

I've done the headlights on my Cally (both from the top with some skin loss) a while ago. I then had to change a bulb on my Micra - it uses the same H4 bulbs. The connector really did *NOT* want to let go and I ended up ripping the spade off the bulb completely and then tearing it from the connector with pliers!

You wouldn't think it would be so difficult!
