Need help with conecting Ipod
« on: March 22, 2010, 09:34:01 PM »
I have just taken delivery of a second hand Caliber SXT Sport Auto.

The previous owner has installed what appears to be an Ipod connection. This is in the form of a black coiled wire that is located in the cubby hole directly below the radio unit.

I have tried connecting both a Nano Ipod and a 3Gs Iphone. A message appears on both the Ipod and Iphone stating that the unit does not charge to device.

Can someone advise me on how to play the MP3 files once connected via this adaptor. I assumed that once plugged into the adaptor, with the radio on, the Ipod/Iphone would automatically overide the radio and play my music. By simply attaching the Ipod and selecting play mode, nothing happens, so assume there must be and additional setting somehwere that I am missing.

I believe that the radio was upgraded as it has a 6 CD auto changer built into the dash.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

WOLF..

have a look to see if the radio has a pre-set of 87.5 on the fm frequency???  and if so it is the link from the intergrated kit??? , if this is so, the ipod volume etc gets sorted out via the steering wheel /units controls, and the i-pod sorts the rest....

and also welcome to the forum..... your official welcome can be found here... http://caliberowners.co.uk/index.php?topic=840.msg31366#msg31366

Well, he would have serious issues as the 6CD changer actaully allows MP3 discs, thats alot of music.
